Tax Day Specials Across LA: $1 Cocktails and MoreBy Lesley Balla | April 15, 2014 By Lesley Balla | April 15, 2014
They say you can only count on two things in life - death and taxes - but on April 15, Tax Day, you can also count on some pretty budget-friendly specials around town. That way if you're celebrating a big refund (yay!) or having to pay your dues (boo!), you can do it with $1 martinis and more. Here's where to go.
Thirsty Crow: To celebrate your Turbo Tax efforts and the relief of shipping off your IRS forms, the Silver Lake bar will have $1 cocktails from 5-9 PM today. Other 1933 Group bars are doing the same, including Sassafras, Oldfield's Liquor Room, Bigfoot Lodge, Bigfoot Lodge West and La Cuevita (7-9pm only).
Plan Check: At both locations (Sawtelle and Fairfax), get the special Income Tax cocktail, a simple sipper with gin, dry and sweet vermouth, orange and bitters. It's only $4.15, which means there's more room for pastrami gravy fries and smoky fried chicken.
Franklin & Company: The Franklin Village gastropub in Hollywood has happy hour all day today, which means $5 well drinks and house wine, $4 select draft beers and half-price beer flights.
The Hudson: If you waited until the very, very, very last minute to file, the West Hollywood spot has a late-night tax relief happy hour from 11 PM-2 AM tonight. Get $4 glasses of wine, draft beer and select well drinks.
La Dolce Vita: Get The 100, a cocktail made with Stoli 100, lemon and a Champagne floater, for only $1 from 6-9 PM. The cocktail was created to commemorate 100 years of Beverly Hills. There's a two-drink limit with the purchase of food.
The Whisper Restaurant and Lounge: The newly renovated spot at The Grove has 10-cent Lucy Goosey cocktails (vodka martinis with blue cheese-stuffed olives) from 5-8 PM today. There's a two-drink limit and you must purchase with food.
Dominick's: The throwback bar and restaurant has throwback prices today - get $4 mini martinis in gin, vodka or Manhattan form, all day today.
