Best Oyster Happy Hours By LA NeighborhoodBy Lesley Balla | August 5, 2014 By Lesley Balla | August 5, 2014
Oysters are everywhere these days and nobody's complaining. There are fantastic restaurants with raw bars — like Connie & Ted's, Fishing With Dynamite and Water Grill — serving the best East and West Coast oysters. But sometimes you want to get your fill on the cheap. That's when oyster happy hour comes in handy. Thank goodness just about every neighborhood around LA has one. Here are some of the best.
Hollywood: Among the daily Oyster Hour ((5-7 PM) specials at Littlefork, the oyster of the day is $1.50. Find the same deal on Friday and Saturday nights from 10 PM until closing time. At The Hungry Cat, all oysters are half price all day on Mondays. And Delphine at the W has East Coast oysters for $1 and West Coast oysters for $2 on Mondays from 5-10:30 PM.
Koreatown: It’s known for everything from lobster rolls to clam chowder but EMC Seafood has great happy hour specials from 4-7 PM every day, including $1 oysters. From 10 PM till close, they’re $1.25.
West Hollywood: On Tuesday nights, oysters are $1 a piece at Pearl’s Liquor Bar, along with $2 oyster shooters and two grilled oysters for $6. On Wednesdays, they’re $1 at The Churchill from 6 PM-midnight. And at Herringbone at the Mondrian, oysters are only a buck from 4-6 PM, Monday through Friday.
Silver Lake: It’s an oyster power hour at Cliff’s Edge every Thursday night on the patio with $1 oysters from 6-7 PM. At L&E, where oysters are king every day, they’re only $12 for a half dozen from 5-7 PM, Monday through Friday.
South Bay: In Manhattan Beach, get oysters for $1.75 Monday through Friday from 2-6 PM at Fishbar. In Hermosa, the newish Dia de Campo has $1 oysters all day every Tuesday. And at Hermosa Beach Fish Shop, find $1 oysters on Thursday nights from 4 PM until they run out.
Beverly Hills: At Bar Bouchon, the $2 happy hour oysters go pretty well with $4 beers, $5 glasses of wine and $7 cocktails Monday through Fridays, 4-7 PM.
Santa Monica: Get oysters for $1.50 and oyster shooters for $2 at Enterprise Fish Company Monday through Saturday, 4-7 PM, Sundays from 8-10 PM, and late nights on Friday and Saturday from 9-11 PM. Oysters are $2 each at The Lobster Monday through Friday from 4:30-6:30 PM. And like its Hollywood sibling, The Hungry Cat along the PCH has half-price oysters all night long on Mondays.
