Chef Tin Vuong (Little Sister, Wildcraft) leads a Singaporean cooking class at Culver City's New School of Cooking tonight, Friday, October 25. With Indian, Malay, Chinese and Indonesian influences, you'll explore and prepare dishes like beef randang, roti paratha and Hainanese chicken rice. 7-10 PM. Class is $100 per person; make reservations here (8690 Washington Blvd.).
The beer garden winds down at Tender Greens Hollywood this weekend, but it's going out in style - pig-style. To celebrate the last event of the season as well as Oktoberfest, there will be a whole pig roast on the back patio, plus appetizers, dessert and all-you-can-drink Smog City beer. Tickets are $45 per person. To RSVP, email firstname.lastname@example.org (6290 Sunset Blvd.).
Halloween is officially next week, but the parties, costume contests and drink specials start this weekend. Pull out your best hipster (or hipster Flamenco) costume and hit El Cid for a rock show with Black Crystal Wolf Kids tonight, Friday, October 25. Tickets are only $10. On Saturday, the first of three toga parties take place at State Social House in West Hollywood. And also on Saturday, Wokcano in Santa Monica gets all zombied out.
