5 World Cup Parties Not to Miss This WeekBy Carissa Chesanek | June 23, 2014 By Carissa Chesanek | June 23, 2014
World Cup fever is officially here and it's hit Miami pretty hard. Better get on the bandwagon, folks. Here are five places to celebrate the games this week.
The Social Club has large flatscreens (both poolside and bar side) and serves rotating $9 drink specials, such as Pimms Cup and Fernet Shots (June 24), and Rum Punch Rose and Sparkling Rose (June 25). Food options include crispy fried chicken wings with sweet and spicy chili glaze ($14).
Head over to Washington Avenue's quaint 660 at The Angler’s Nuevo Latino space, where all the action takes place outdoors on the patio. Expect large TVs and happy hour deals ($6 short rib empanadas and blackberry Caipirinhas).
Duffy’s Sports Grill boasts almost 200 flatscreens (!!) both inside and out, so catching a game here is a no-brainer, especially since it includes celebratory cocktails like Caipirinhas for $6 and two-for-one drinks all day, every day.
Coconut Grove's lively French bistro, George’s in the Grove, offers World Cup specials including complimentary draft beer (one per game) and $5 Wednesdays (includes premium cocktails) with free champagne for ladies starting July 9.
Throughout the games, South Beach's elegant new Traymore Restaurant and Bar (pictured) offers guests discounted tapas like braised beef with Spanish chorizo empanadas, paired with half-price Nolet Silver Gin and Zacapa Rum cocktails.
