Michelle Bernstein (pictured) will officially be the food and beverage partner inside the soon-to-come Thompson Miami Beach on Collins Avenue when it opens later this year. The James Beard Award-winning chef, who recently announced the closing of her iconic Michy's restaurant, will help operate the hotel's signature classic brasserie, serving locally sourced fish and meat dishes.
The casual Japanese chain Gyu-Kaku has quietly opened its first Florida location in Brickell, says Short Order. It specializes in yakiniku dining, meaning food is grilled tableside on special barbecues.
North Miami Beach's El'Eat Restaurant & Lounge is having its grand opening this Thursday, May 29. According to Eater.com, the new "upscale, fine dining eatery 'where mod American cuisine meets timeless style,'" will hold its opening night from 6-9 PM featuring menu items created by former Biscayne Tavern chef William Biscoe.
