On December 5, the Coconut Grove Playhouse parking lot hosts a new Grove Green Market from 2 PM to 8 PM. Local farmers such as Urban Greenworks and Coconut Grove Farms offer fresh produce, grass-fed beef, seafood and olive oils. Guests can also picnic at The Barnacle Historic State Park all day long. Chef Norman Van Aken (pictured) hosts his launch party at Books & Books in Coral Gables for his latest memoir No Experience Necessary: The Culinary Odyssey of Chef Norman Van Aken. Guest chefs from Swine Southern Table & Bar and The Federal Food, Drink and Provisions will create dishes from the book, followed by Van Aken's discussion and signing. The event is free and open to the public .
The Tap 'N' Run Ft. Lauderdale takes place on December 7 starting at 2 PM at America’s Backyard. Runners dress up in wacky costumes and stumble through a 4K race course, pit-stopping at three beer-chugging stations and making it toward the finish line, where they're rewarded with a beer and awards ceremony. Tickets range from $35 to $59 per person, and are available here.
The last installment of Dinner in Paradise takes place on December 8 at Paradise Farms Organic in Homestead at 5 PM. The Keys’ top chefs will create a five-course meal and wine pairing with proceeds going toward the Learning in Paradise program, helping children learn about healthy eating.
