Weekend Planner: Halloween Wine Dinner and BBQ Brunch
Scarpetta at Fontainebleau Miami Beach hosts a four-course Ca’ del Bosco wine dinner. Dishes will include tuna tartare with Osetra caviar paired with Cuvée Annamaria Clementi and bucatini with Alaskan King crab, gremolata and long hot chiles served with chardonnay. Catch the last day of Shake Shack’s Halloween menu with a Halloweenie Vienna all-crispy beef hot dog topped with pumpkin mustard and the Shack O’Lantern shake made of frozen vanilla custard, marshmallow and hand-spun pumpkin. Halloween items are offered at both Shake Shack locations in South Beach and Coral Gables (more info here).
Cantina Beach at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami presents Dia De Los Muertos on November 1 from 7-10 PM. Highlights include festive dancers, complimentary tequila tastings, a salsa bar and tacos al pastor from chef Andres Parlange. The event is free to get in and open to locals (305-365-4286).
Celebrity chef Howie Kleinberg launches his new Southern-style brunch at Bulldog Barbecue & Burger beginning November 2. Plates include smoked brisket hash with Yukon gold potatoes and fried egg, pulled pork benedict with chipotle hollandaise and country fried chicken and waffles with bacon gravy. Toro Toro celebrates its first anniversary with a special prix-fixe three-course tasting menu throughout November. Guests are able to choose items from chef Richard Sandoval’s Pan-Latin menu featuring corn cakes with short rib, skirt steak with truffle boniato and signature tres leches.
