7 Pride Parties to Check Out in NYC

By Patty Lee | June 26, 2014 By Patty Lee  |  June 26, 2014

The 2014 NYC Pride March comes swinging down Fifth Avenue on Sunday and there's no shortage of parties. Here are a few with strong food and drink options worth checking out.

Wythe Hotel: The hip Williamsburg hotel gets the party started early on Friday night with its first ever Pride Ball ($20). Dance to sets by DJs Juliana Huxtable and Casey Spooner while throwing back sips from the Milagro Tequila open bar between 7pm and 8pm. (7PM-1AM; 718-460-8000)

The Spotted Pig: The namesake mascot hanging outside April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman’s West Village hotspot may not be around this year — it was stolen a few months ago — but the restaurant's sixth annual Gay Pride Party will be in full swing. Along with drink specials like a Pride punch, they will also unveil a boozy ice luge. (Starts at 5:30PM; 212-620-0393)

Ilili: Swap your eggs benedict for a burlesque brunch featuring performances by famed drag queens Shequida, Sherry Vine and Eve Van Cartier. Take in the show and watch the parade go by while diving into Lebanese specialties and a complimentary cocktail courtesy of Qui Tequila. (Noon-4PM; 212-683-2929)

Plunge Rooftop Bar and Lounge: Los Angeles' famed pan-sexual disco party A Club Called Rhonda checks in at the Gansevoort Meatpacking for a celebration that will boast plenty of dancing, plus a midnight dip in the heated rooftop pool. (10PM; 212-660-6736)

Blue Water Grill: The Union Square seafood spot will offer a one-day sushi special, a Rainbow Roll ($16) packed with cucumber, avocado and three types of fish (yellowtail, tuna, salmon). (212-675-9500)

KTCHN: Join the drag duo Haus of Mimosa for a $30 prix-fixe brunch. The special will feature bottomless mimosas and breakfast favorites like French toast, egg white omelettes and more. (Seatings at Noon, 2PM; 212-868-2999)

Louro: Pride Week specials at chef David Santos's Portuguese-influenced spot include dishes such as piri piri shrimp ($8) and a goat burger ($18), plus craft beers from Ommegang and Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (212-206-0606)
