Best Thing We Ate: Burger at The Bounty

The Bounty, nestled between divey Polish bars on Greenpoint Avenue, is one of the spots that's increasing the hip-quotient of Greenpoint's waterfront district. The venue runs with a nautical theme, with a gigantic sail hanging over the small dining room, and the menu features plenty of raw bar items, focusing on sustainablly sourced (and surprisingly affordable) seafood.

Though we dug the theme, it was a meaty dish that most impressed. When asked for a recommendation, the bartender immediately pointed to the burger and promised, "It would be in my top burgers even if i didn't work here." Was she to be believed? Only one way to find out. The juicy, plump patty appeared smaller than we expected, but it was rich and packed with flavor. The secret ingredient was a tomato jam that amped this puppy up to the next level. The vibe is that of a neighborhood joint, but with solid options like this, Manhattanites should swim on over.
