Daily Digestif: All the daily restaurant and food news fit to eat.

Bowien beat: Pete Wells of the NY Times has awarded one star to Danny Bowien's Mission Cantina on the LES, noting that the tacos need some work but he enjoyed most of the other items: "Some of the best things on the menu are not in taco form. I would run back for the fried chicken wings, dusted with a spice mix that’s like a dehydrated mole poblano, down to the sesame seeds and chocolate." [NYT]

Changes on the Bowery: Eater NY gets a note from chef Mathieu Palombino that Bowery Diner will close after service this Sunday and re-concept as a pop-up named Chez Jef reopening some time March. [Eater NY]

Top Chef shuffles: Top Chef winner Kristen Kish has left her post at Menton. Zagat Boston chats with her about next steps. [Zagat Boston]

Celeb chef expansions: Speaking of Top Chef, guess who's opening a new concept in Miami? None other than head judge Tom Colicchio. [Miami New Times]
