Coming Soon: Heights TavernBy Anne Roderique Jones | August 21, 2013 By Anne Roderique Jones | August 21, 2013
Heights Tavern, from the owners of Harlem Tavern, is expected to open in Washington Heights on Wednesday, August 28. Randolph Hernandez, the assistant general manager, tells us that the menu will be the same as Harlem Tavern, including the $9.95 lunch special for the neighborhood’s bustling business peeps - especially the hospital employees. Offerings like a spicy buffalo chicken wrap or the super salad (which has all super food ingredients like kale and pomegranates) make up the lunch menu.
The 4,100-square foot space has a rustic feel, with exposed brick, tin ceilings and dark wood. Plus, there’s and sidewalk cafe that’s perfect for sipping its signature Dominican Michelada: Presidente beer with Abosolut Cilantro and spicy tomato paste. Hernandaz says, “It’s our homage to the neighborhood.”
