La Silhouette Closes in Hell's Kitchen

Looks like the upscale Hell's Kitchen French La Silhouette has la shuttered. The lights were off this weekend, and a tipster sent us an image of a sign on the door that was posted by the City of New York, saying that the landlord now has possession of the building. The highly rated pre-theater pick was known for its foie gras served with a smile, but even with the growing popularity of the neighborhood as a dining destination, it seems the locale was unable to capture a steady fan base. There's no word yet on who may take over, or whether the lights will come on again before the holiday theater season.
