New Restaurant in Union Square Park, More

Parkside dining alert: The New York State Court of Appeals ruled that the New York City Parks Department has the right to run a private cafe inside the pavilion area of Union Square Park. Restaurateur Simon Oren, who owns 5 Napkin Burger and French Roast, has signed on to operate the 200-seat  dining area. The Park's Department will have final say on all menu items along with additional operational matters. [Gothamist]

Openings: Wasabi, a London based chain that specializes in solo wrapped sushi, is opening its first international location in Times Square on Monday. The restaurant will offer dine in and carry out service, with ramen and bento boxes rounding out a menu that features over 50 varieties of sushi. (561 7 Ave.; 212-575-1410)

Reopenings: Harlem's historic Lenox Lounge is planning a summer debut in a new location a few blocks away from the original incarnation. Owner Alvin Reed plans to renovate the new space with the lounge's original furniture, sign, and bar, as well as recreate the venue's infamous Zebra Room.  [Eater]
