Now Open: Suite 36 Restaurant & LoungeBy Anne Roderique Jones | October 14, 2013 By Anne Roderique Jones | October 14, 2013
The Studio Mix Hospitality Group (Taj) recently opened Suite 36 Restaurant & Lounge in a former textile warehouse in the Garment District. The not-your-average sports bar is outfitted with 38 TVs and a 50-foot bar, though when night falls, it becomes a nightclub with VIP areas like the Empire State Suite - hidden behind a moveable bookcase for a Hogwarts touch - revealing a skylight view of the Empire State Building.
Executive chef Kirk McKinney’s “gastro menu” is flecked with Big Island influences (lobster corn dogs and Hawaiian pulled-pork sandwiches), while mixologist Olivia O’Leary makes cocktails from 100-proof bacon-infused bourbon, as well as espresso-tinis with Baileys, Tahitian vanilla and tons of caffeine to keep you dancing all night long. 16 West 36th St.; 212-695-0036
