Starbucks to Start Selling Alcohol; Batali Booze Crisis, More

By Kelly Dobkin | March 20, 2014 By Kelly Dobkin  |  March 20, 2014

Free pizza happy hour: BLT Bar & Grill at the W Hotel downtown is offering free pizza with the purchase of any drink at its bar between 5-7PM Mon-Fri. 123 Washington Street

Starbucks adds beer and wine: After testing beer and wine sales in select markets for years, the coffee giant is rolling our alcohol gradually to every cafe over the next several years. The alcohol is part of an after-4PM menu that includes snacks like truffle mac and cheese and chocolate fondue. [NYP]

Batali empire booze crisis: Looks like several restaurants (Del Posto, Eataly, et al.) owned by the Batali/Bastianich group could potentially lose their liquor licenses for six months according to an item listed on a recent SLA agenda which indicates a "false material statement" and "interlocking" last year.
