The McKittrick Hotel Adds New Club Space, Hotbox

The McKittrick Hotel has become a nightlife destination apart from Sleep No More. After the masked, immersive theater piece became a sensation, the organizers decided to operate the lounge at the center of the show as a stand-alone venue known as Manderley Bar, no ticket required. After that, it was the launch of Gallow Green, the rooftop watering hole sporting punch bowls and actors in character. Now we hear the venue is running a third club space out of its basement.

We don't have too many details, but the joint is known as Hotbox and has music from a live band à la Manderley. There are banquettes, late-night bites and a mixology program dishing out classic, old-timey cocktails. The folks behind this venue have managed to make the enterprise a success based largely on word-of-mouth, and we're sure this haunt will be no different. If you're looking for some clues, this is a good place to start (530 W. 27th St.).

Correction: We got in touch with the hotel staff, and the name of the club is actually Hotbox. We first identified it as Heathens, which is actually the name of the house band.
