Two Asian Eateries Nab One Star Each From NY TimesBy James Mulcahy

For his review this week, Pete Wells stopped by two high-profile Asian newcomers, Khe-Yo (pictured) and Whiskey Soda Lounge Ny. The first was backed by Marc Forgione, and the second is an offshoot of Andy Ricker's super-popular Red Hook Thai, Pok Pok Ny. The critic seems a bit more taken with Ricker's new haunt, praising the cocktails and saying that the venue is more than just a place to wait for a table at its perpetually packed sister restaurant. He enjoys much of the Laotian cuisine being served in TriBeCa, but says the offerings are more familiar and points out some dishes that were misses. Each place snags one star, and Wells lauds these new Asian openings as a sign of "how far New York has come." Read the full review here.
