Greenwich Project, a beauty of a brownstone in Greenwich Village, is serving up one incredible brunch. Executive Chef Carmine Di Giovanni whips up a $25 prix fixe menu that starts with freshly baked scones; continues with entrées like an elegant truffle egg salad with toast points or the decedent pork belly hash with a poached egg and chipotle hollandaise. And there’s something for the traditionalist, too, like lemon ricotta pancakes with bourbon maple butter and berries or a savory Eggs Benedict with ham and housemade cheddar biscuits.
Because this is a Mulberry Project brainchild, the cocktails are solid. Forget the mimosa and belinis - cocktails here are upgraded, like the La Maquina Verde, made with fresh-pressed green apple and kale that's boozed up with tequila and fire water bitters. Or the What's Up Doc that’s swirled with fresh carrot, celery juice, ginger,vodka and orange bitters.
