By Zagat Staff  |  January 26, 2016

It just became a little bit easier for New Yorkers to indulge their poke obsessionWisefish Poké, a seafood shop dedicated to Hawaii’s much-celebrated raw fish dish, opens today in Chelsea.

The fast casual-style, counter-service spot offers each bowl made to order as guests select from a range of bases, proteins, mix-ins, toppings, and housemade sauces. The menu features four "house favorites": Hawaii Style (ahi tuna, sweet onion, hijiki, scallion, classic sauce), West Swell (ahi tuna, sweet onion, house herbs, tobiko, wasabi avocado cream, wisefish sauce), Heat Wave (salmon, cucumber, house herb mix, jalapeño, scallion, spicy citrus shoyu), and The Chelsea (tofu, sweet onion, cucumber, edamame, sea beans, scallion, avocado, wisefish sauce). Seaweed, crab, and cucumber salads round out the menu.

The restaurant also emphasizes a commitment to responsibly sourced seafood, partnering with purveyors from around the country such as NYC’s Greenpoint Fish & Lobster Co.

The tiny space, decorated with hanging wood menu boards and burlap-lined walls, centers around a handcrafted white oak communal table. 263 W. 19th St.; 212-367-7653; hours: 11:30 AM-9:30 PM, daily
