NYCWFF: Best New Chefs 25th Anniversary PartyBy Kelly Dobkin | October 19, 2013 By Kelly Dobkin | October 19, 2013
While the rest of NYC was at the Burger Bash, we dropped by the Food & Wine 25th Anniversary party at the Mandarin Oriental last night to check out the celeb chef-studded lineup. The party was a celebration of the last 25 years of the Best New Chef awards and featured a slew of previous winners, including Paul Liebrandt (The Elm), Missy Robbins (ex A Voce), Tom Colicchio ('wichcraft), Andrew Carmellini (Locanda Verde, The Dutch, Lafayette) and Wylie Dufresne (wd~50). Among the highlights, food-wise, Tom Colicchio's crab and uni fondue was exceptionally rich with just the right amount of acid to balance out the intense creaminess. Anita Lo's take on kibbeh nayeh (Lebanese steak tartare) was delicate, well-seasoned and delicious. Check out some photos from last night in the slide show below.
