Openings Around the U.S.: Feniger's New LA Spot, More

Today in our new weekly column we take a look at some of the biggest restaurant openings around the country from the nation's most-buzzed-about chefs. And away we go!

    Mud Hen Tavern, LA

    Susan Feniger's all-American gastropub, which is a makeover of her former concept Street, is now open in LA. Here's our first look.

    The Fat Ham and Avance, Philadelphia, PA

    Kevin Sbraga's long-awaited new restaurant, inspired by the cuisine of the American South, is now open in Philadelphia. Check out our first look here.

    Another one of the year's biggest openings - Avance - debuts this Friday the 13th (gulp) in the space that once housed legendary Philly eatery Le Bec-Fin. Chef Justin Bogle is at the helm - read more about it here.

  • Bonchon, Dallas, TX

    Dallas is getting its very first outpost of Korean fried chicken chain Bonchon in the Old Town Shopping Center on Greenville, just north of Lovers Lane. The spot is now soft-open and you can read more here

    Meanwhile, the debut of Barter was delayed until today due to weather but expect a "Dallas take" on contemporary Texas cuisine from executive chef Andrew Dilda with consulting chef Tim Love.

  • Odd Duck, Austin, TX

    Chef Bryce Gilmore made a name for himself with the Odd Duck Farm to Trailer, and tomorrow his brick-and-mortar outpost will open, after being soft-open for the past few days. Like his other South Lamar restaurant, Barley Swine, the locale will offer “intensely local, seasonal fare” with plenty of playful notes. Check out more here.

    Lower48, Denver, CO

    A trio of Frasca Food & Wine vets have opened contemporary American spot Lower 48 in Denver's Ballpark nabe. Check out a Q&A with them here.

  • Aragona, Seattle, WA

    Chef Jason Stratton’s much-anticipated Aragona opened on Monday with Top Chef-testant Carrie Mashaney as chef de cuisine. The Spanish-inspired menu features plates prepared via sizzling plancha. Read more about it here
