10 Top Options for Christmas Eve Feasts in Philly
Whether you’re looking for a classic Feast of the Seven Fishes, a nouveau version of the seafood extravaganza or something else altogether, here are 10 top options for Christmas Eve dinner in Philly.
In addition to regular dinner service, chef Eli Kulp and chef de cuisine Jon Nodler have collaborated to come up with their own special version of Seven Fishes at this Rittenhouse bistro, comprising five courses on the charcoal grill for $75 from 5-9 PM. An optional wine pairing will also be available.
2. Le Virtù
It’s a DIY Seven Fishes at this East Passyunk dining room, where you can choose from a variety of chef Joe Cicala’s Abruzzese fish specials to create your custom feast. The regular menu is also available, and seatings will continue through 10 PM.
If you’re looking for non-seafood specials, make a reservation at chef Patrice Rames’ French dining room overlooking the Schuylkill between 5:30-9:30 PM. Five courses will multiple options for each will go for $45 per person, with an optional wine pairing available for $30 more. An alternate, three-course meal is available for $35.
At Eli Kulp’s Old City venue, the multi-course Seven Fishes tasting menu will include lobster, oysters, scallops stuffed branzino and more, available for $85 per person. Seatings are available from 5-9 PM, and the full à la carte will also be available.
Chef Lynn Rinaldi is pulling out all the stops for her fish feast, offering a $75 multi-course meal that includes classics like baccala, linguini with clams and whole Dover sole, plus family-style sides and an individual dessert.
Peter Serpico is putting together a special family-style feast for guests who reserve a table at his South Street restaurant, available for $65 per person. No teases as to what he’ll be offering, but best bets are a combination of perfectly executed classics and wildly new interpretations of the same.
7. London Grill
In Fairmount, chef Michael McNally’s Seven Fishes comes à la carte style, with a special menu of South Philly-inspired dishes. Look for shrimp, oysters, calamari, sardines, baccala, salmon and clams on the list.

Christmas Eve in the Ritz-Carlton restaurant will bring a four-course seasonal menu from chef Matthew Hiebsch, available for $110 per person ($55 for kids 12 and younger). Of note, the same menu will also be offered on Christmas Day.
Get exotic with an Indian night before Christmas in Midtown Village. Four courses with options like soft-shell crab, lamb chops and wild boar will run $45 per person. Drink specials will also be available, as will the regular menu.
This old-school Italian on East Passyunk is reprising its classic Seven Fishes dinner, with a stream of dishes including stuffed squid, fettuccine and clams, smelts, scallops, salmon, flounder, stuffed clams and seafood antipasti. The meal run $65 per person and you can choose from seatings at 3 PM, 6 PM or 9 PM.
