Build Your Own Cheesesteak With Joe’s SteaksBy Danya Henninger | September 13, 2013 By Danya Henninger | September 13, 2013
Just in time for the Eagles home opener this weekend, Joe’s Steaks + Soda is introducing a brilliant new way to enjoy cheesesteaks during the game. Not only is the Northeast sandwich joint now open on Sundays for the first time ever, but you can also opt to pick up a “cheesesteak kit” to take home for gametime noshing.
The package has everything you need to make your own cheesesteak, all in separate containers, since there’s nothing worse than a soggy sandwich. The kit comes in multiple party sizes, starting at $90 for enough food to feed 10-15 people. Your haul includes your choice of meat, cheese, rolls, onions (fried or raw), pickles or peppers and chips. For an additional charge you can add sauce, mushrooms, lettuce and tomato, blue cheese or fries.
If you do eat in the restaurant - or as a pre-game snack - try Joe’s milkshake of the month: the Eagles Touchdown Sundae. Vanilla peanut butter swirl ice cream is blended with little chocolate and peanut butter footballs, vanilla syrup and milk, and then topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup crumbles. Best is the price: that decadent dessert goes for just $4.68 (215-535-9405).
