Philadelphia already has the first, biggest and best beer week in the land, but bars around town have also been steadily upping their wine game. In recognition of that and to elevate the fermented grape scene here, a group of wine-obsessed restaurant folk have gotten together to create the first-ever Philly Wine Week. The festival will take place March 23-30, and will feature wine tasting events from noon-midnight every single day.

UPDATE: The list of participants has grown to include an impressive array of the city's best wine destinations, check them out below.

Plus, tickets are now available for the opening kickoff, Bubbles & Barrels. Only 150 spots are available for the party ($40; here) which is set for 5-8 PM on Sunday, March 23, at Ristorante Panorama, with special guest hosts Laura Williamson and Wayne Belding, both master sommeliers. The walk-around tasting event will benefit PAWS.

Philly Wine Week was co-founded by Kate Moroney and Bill Eccleston (GM/wine directors at Vintage and Panorama, respectively), to promote wine knowledge and excitement in our beer-soaked city. An official website will launch soon, but for now you can follow along on Twitter at @Phlwineweek.
