Food Truck Harvest Festival at The Oval

By Danya Henninger  |  October 8, 2013

The great new public space at the foot of the Philadelphia Museum of Art is going to be hopping this weekend. The Oval is hosting four days of food- and fun-filled harvest festivities from Thursday-Sunday, October 10-13.

Things kick off on Thursday with a special edition of Phair, the open air market that pops up each Saturday by the Schuylkill Banks. From 5-11 PM, head to the Ben Franklin Parkway to browse dozens of craft and vintage stands, and enjoy bites from The Cow and the Curd, Street Food Philly, Guerrilla Ultima, Cupcake Carnival, Zea May’s and other food truck favorites.

On Friday the trucks will be back and acting as a concession stand for the cinema night (food available 5-10 PM, movie starts at 8 PM). Saturday is family day, and a series of activities - think hayrides and a petting zoo - will run from noon-4 PM, and a costume party with live entertainment goes from 4-9 PM. A series of farewell events are planned for Sunday from noon-4 PM, and you can be sure the mobile kitchens will be ready for more fall food action throughout.
