Four Fun Tree Lighting Parties This Week

By Danya Henninger | December 3, 2013 By Danya Henninger  |  December 3, 2013

It’s tree season! Here’s where and when to catch four festive lighting ceremonies for Philly’s most prominent holiday firs.

Flock to Rittenhouse Square at 5 PM today to watch the tree at the center of the park come alive. Expect hot chocolate, singing and other fun.

From 6-8 PM, the towering 44-ft. specimen at the Shops at Liberty Place will begin to sparkle. Head to the rotunda for arts and crafts, live music and dance performances and complimentary drinks and snacks. Santa will also be in attendance.

Also tonight 6-8 PM is the launch of Ritz-Carlton’s Festival of Trees. 10 Arts will serve complimentary cocktails as 10 trees decked out by local designers are unveiled.

Tomorrow, it’s East Passyunk’s turn. Gather at the singing fountain at 5 PM for caroling, Santa and free bites and drinks from Belle Cakery, Black ‘N Brew, Noord and Stateside. Ms. Goody Cupcakes will be selling holiday sweets, and at 7 PM everyone is invited to stroll down the avenue to take advantage of extended shopping hours and food and drink specials.
