The Heirloom team of chef Al Paris and proprietors Robert and Kim Bynum just launched a second Chestnut Hill venture. Located in the stone carriage house next to the Chestnut Hill Farmers’ Market, Green Soul is billed as a “fun, friendly and health-conscious” cafe. Sandwiches, wraps, salads, smoothies and juices fill out the counter-service menu, and all packaging is made from recycled or recyclable materials. The shop is now open 11 AM-8 PM, seven days a week (8229 Germantown Ave.).

For those looking for eco-friendly, quick and healthy eats in West Philly, Nicole Marquis has opened the doors at the second outpost of runaway hit HipCityVeg. The same slate of vegan fare that causes lines out the cafe’s door in Rittenhouse will be served to students and profs in University City, including the possibly-better-than-beef Ziggy burger (it’s made with smoked tempeh). Hours are 11 AM-11 PM, Sunday-Wednesday and 11 AM-1 AM, Thursday-Saturday (214 S. 40th St.; 267-244-4342).
