Kabobeesh Opens off South Street

On Friday, Pakistani-Indian BBQ favorite Kabobeesh opened the doors at its second location, the former Latest Dish space on Fourth Street just South of South. Long a favorite of West Philly diners, the restaurant is beloved for kabobs - as the name implies - and other Middle Eastern specialties.

Passyunk Post stopped in for an early look, and reports that the downstairs dining room has around 30 seats, all at dark wood tables and chairs in front of a neon-lit hanging menu. The menu itself mirrors the University City location, with combo platters running just $9-$11 and sandwich rolls available for $5.50-$8.50 .

Though it’s not quite ready, very soon the upstairs - formerly Fluid nightclub - will be a hookah lounge, with 20 flavors of tobacco available.
