Unless you have a day off, traveling to Tijuana for your lunch hour is out of the question. At Romesco Mexiterranean Bistro in Bonita - a mere 15 minutes north of the Mexican border - a selection of Tijuana street food favorites have been unveiled for their new lunch menu.

Tacos, tostadas and tortas are just some of additions to their already extensive menu. There are more than 40 tapas, ranging from roadside tacos filled with tender and flavorful braised beef cheeks to refreshing ahi tuna tostadas. There's something for everyone and every taste; the only problem is deciding which ones to order. Here are five to try.

Labeled as a "Mexican delicacy," fresh habanero and chile de arbol with fried parsley season the rich bone marrow which sits on top a delicately fried sope.

Good luck trying to find these in Mexican taco stands. Cazuleitas de cachete de res features braised beef cheeks topped with cilantro, chopped onion, fresh salsa and feta cheese.

Fresh ahi tuna is highlighted in the roadside tostada (a new addition to their menu). Guacamole, fresh cream, mixed greens and a mild habanero sauce work to complement the silky pieces of fish.

The octopus-wary will be pleasantly surprised with the tostada de pulpo. It's a tasty dish featuring tender cuts of sautéed octopus, topped with mustard and bell pepper ailoi, chipotle and cotija cheese.

A visit to Romesco - or Tijuana, for that matter - is not complete without an order of churros. You're encouraged to dip the churros into either warm cajeta (caramel) or hot Ibarra chocolate - or both.
