A new roastery and cafe called Andytown Coffee Roasters plans to grand open on March 22 at 3655 Lawton Street in the Outer Sunset. It's the brainchild of a couple, Wired tech writer and former Blue Bottle Coffee barista Lauren Crabbe and musician Michael McCrory, whose Irish hometown of Andersonstown in Belfast is nicknamed Andytown. His grandmother's soda bread recipe - adapted with California ingredients - will be among the Irish treats served with coffee roasted in-house. After raising more than $21,000 in a Kickstarter campaign with a $15,000 goal, the community has really gotten behind this newcomer. Stop in on opening day between 8 AM and 3 PM for a free cup of coffee. While you're at it, try your luck to win a custom Andytown surfboard in a raffle benefiting Golden Gate Park National Conservancy's efforts to clean up nearby Ocean Beach.
