Pastries and Pop-Ups Rule This WeekendBy Tamara Palmer | January 10, 2014 By Tamara Palmer | January 10, 2014
Chef Anthony Yang is throwing editions of his popular Ante Meridian pop-up brunch at two different venues this weekend. First up is a casual à la carte session at Dear Mom at 11 AM on January 11, followed by a prix fixe ($40) at Naked Kitchen at 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM on January 12. You should be able to snag his coveted black truffle waffles at both.
Sweet Bar Bakery in Oakland is throwing a first anniversary party from 5-8 PM on January 12. Tickets are $25 at the door ($22.50 in advance) and includes all-you-can-eat pizza, salad, veggies and dessert. A source familiar with the event says not to be surprised if a Michael Jackson or Beyonce flash mob breaks out during the festivities.
Meanwhile in San Francisco on January 12, Le Dix-Sept Pop-Up takes place at Biondivino Wine Boutique from 11 AM to 2 PM. There will be an array of take-home canneles, sweet tarts and savory brunch bites like quiche Lorraine and mushroom tarts.
