Recipe fans think of the festive annual Cookbook Social as the ultimate one-stop shopping scenario, especially when you consider the sweet and savory snacks prepared by a dazzling lineup of authors.
This year’s Social is from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday at Palace Ballroom and features more than 20 titles, including artsy chef tomes from John Sundstrom (Lark), Portland’s Gabriel Rucker (Le Pigeon), Heather Earnhardt (Wandering Goose), Meeru Dhawala (Shanik), John Gorham (Toro Bravo), Nick Zukin (Kenny & Zuke’s) and host Tom Douglas (Dahlia Lounge), and many more.
Gluten Free Girl and the Chef (Shauna Ahern and her co-author/husband, Daniel Ahern) will be there showcasing their new Gluten Free Girl Everyday. Jeanne Sauvage, whose Gluten-Free Baking for the Holidays was a huge hit when it debuted last fall, is back again this year.
Famous forager Langdon Cook will sign copies of his latest, The Mushroom Hunters: On the Trail of an Underground America while Greta Hardin offers tips on Cooking Your Local Produce.
On the sweet side, there’s Mark Klebeck from Top Pot, Autumn Martin (Malts and Milkshakes) and this event marks the return of Seattle favorite Jessie Oleson, aka Cakespy, pictured above, who will be signing copies of her whimsically illustrated The Secret Life of Baked Goods. She’s currently living in Santa Fe and working on a children’s book.
Cookbook Social tickets are $25, which includes bites and a glass of wine or a beer.
