Pike Place Market's Arcade Lights Is This Friday: Here's What to Eat and Drink

By Leslie Kelly  |  April 23, 2014

Pike Place Market is a buzzing hive during the day, with tourists and locals clogging the historic landmark's cobblestone streets and maze-like corridors. After-hours, however, it gets mighty quiet. The annual Arcades Lights Tasting is the exception to that rule. This fun and filling 21-and-over event features more than 70 local and regional artisan food purveyors, restaurateurs, craft beer and wine. And luck for all of us, it's coming up this Friday from 7-10 PM. A portion of the $33 advance ticket price benefits the Market Foundation. Here's a short list of bites and drinks that we know you shouldn't miss:

Longtime Market booster Tom Douglas (Etta's, Seatown) will be making salmon sliders with homemade tartar sauce.

Los Agaves will be serving ceviche, a mix of citrus-y seafood sourced from the fishmongers at the Market.

Spot on Foods will have crumbly good Dessert Bars in sticky sweet strawberry, lime and lemon.

Cinq Cellars will be pouring its Riesling and a red Rhone blend called The Storm.

Whatever they're pouring from 7 Seas BrewingAlpine Brewing CompanyDiamond KnotFremont Brewing Company, Pike Brewing Company and several other local craft beer producers.

Mt. Townsend Creamery will serve a selection of its incredible cheese, including our favorite, the award-winning Trufflestack, a soft, ash rind cheese that's infused with Italian truffles.

Veraci Pizza's wood-fired margherita pie is tomato and melted cheese perfection.

Products from Britt's Pickles - recently featured in our roundup of rising star food artisans - should be a refreshing palate cleanser. Go for the black garlic kimchi, the naturally fermented veggies gett a little bit of mellow sweetness from good-for-you cloves.
