Best Thing We Ate: Fried Fish at PaiBy Robert Hickey | June 10, 2014 By Robert Hickey | June 10, 2014
There's a new Thai restaurant in town. From the owners behind Sukho Thai and Sabai Sabai, comes a new eatery, Pai, that is dedicated to Northen Thai cooking. We recently had the chance to stop in for lunch.
Dish: Fried fish with curry sauce and rice.
Backstory: Chef Nuit Regular has been critically praised over the years for bringing classic Thai cooking to Toronto. With her newest restaurant, she hopes to focus on Classic Northern Thai cooking. The fish dish is a prime example of these flavours, and is only available on the lunch menu.
Tasting Notes: Succulently moist fish meat is covered in crunchy batter. We couldn't get over how tender the fish was. Dip each piece in the house curry (changes daily) to give the meat some tang.
