The American Institute of Wine and Food and The Source by Wolfgang Puck host a crab cake competition Sunday from noon-3 PM to raise funds for culinary internships, scholarships and educational programs. Eight local chefs - including Johnny Spero of Minibar, Tony Chittum of Iron Gate and Chris Clime of PassionFish - will compete in a crab cake showdown using Maryland blue crab. 701 Restaurant brings in winemaker Blair Walter of Felton Road winery of New Zealand to discuss biodynamic wines, such as the dry Riesling, Chardonnay and duo of Pinot Noirs that chef Benjamin Lambert will complement with a four-course meal. The $100 wine dinner takes place Saturday at 7 PM and includes a king salmon crudo, roast squab and a 21-day dry-aged Roseda rib eye.
