Best Thing We Ate: Spaghetti and Meatballs at Aggio

The Dish: Spaghetti and Meatballs at Aggio

The Price: $17

Tasting Notes: At his restaurant within a restaurant at Range, Bryan Voltaggio skips the modernist molecular gastronomy and does this dish Old World style. Braised and dressed in a classic pomodoro sauce, the plump veal-mortadella-beef meatballs are plunked down on a tangle of housemade noodles. We shamelessly mopped every last corner of the bowl with the spongy focaccia from the breadbasket. Then we continued carbo-binging by happily plowing through the carbonara and snail-shell-shaped lumache pasta tossed with lamb ragù. We're pretty sure we gained 5 pounds from that meal - and we're proud of it.
