Cheat Sheet: Pinstripes in Georgetown

The Gist: National bowling chain with an Italian-American kitchen rolls into the space overlooking the canal behind what used to be The Shops at Georgetown Park.

The Vibe: Corporate and luxe for a bowling alley, it still manages to be family-friendly - unlike some other DC bowling alleys.

Eat This: The upscale finger foods - like the chicken and avocado club flatbread, the hummus and avocado platter and the tenderloin sliders - which are perfect for eating between knocking down pins.

Drink This: You must drink beer at a bowling alley, even if they are farmhouse ales and IPAs. (For old-school bowling purists, there are bottles of Miller Lite and Bud Lite.)

Skip This: Most of the cocktails, unless you like them sweet and girly.

The Damage: About $55 before tip for two beers, the flatbread, the sliders and the hummus platter.

The Verdict: It’s citified bowling, but it’s bowling - with good food, good beers and lush couches. Sign us up for another round.
