City Burger Celebrates National Hot Dog Day with Free Soft Serve (with Purchase, of Course)

- City Burger in Bethesda celebrates National Hot Dog Day today with a free cone of house-churned soft-serve custard with any purchase of a specialty dog. The deal is good all day (7015 Wisconsin Ave.; 301-652-0010).

- Gypsy Soul, the long-awaited Merrifield restaurant by Rogue 24 chef RJ Cooper, was originally slated to open today but a rep confirms that the ETA is now Tuesday. On Friday, eager diners can start making reservations via OpenTable for Tuesday and beyond (8296 Glass Alley, Fairfax; 703-992-0933).

- Washington City Paper reports that Ben’s Chili Bowl opened a location in the pre-security area of Reagan National Airport today. The report also reveals that the DC favorite will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from this latest location and that another outpost is expected to open on H Street NE in the next few months.
