It didn’t take long for Potomac to discover recently opened Gregorio’s Trattoria, a modern-day version of an old-school Italian restaurant from the Reston Mama Lucia talents. The space once occupied by Umberto’s was transformed into a contemporary, family friendly setting for anything from a moderately-priced, hearty meal to a snack. Below peek into what its customers find.

The dining areas are simple and uncluttered, with warm wood tables and chairs and appealing images of Italy on the walls.

There are bar perches and a carry out counter.

Customers can find the classic Italian-American culinary canon here, ranging from antipasti (like the arancini pictured), to pastas like spaghetti and baked ziti, to chicken and veal parmigiana, cannoli and tiramisu.

NYC and New Jersey expats will find the “real McCoy” of NY pizza here. It passes the ‘fold” test and it’s even available by the slice.

Comfy booths encourage get-togethers with family and friends.
