Muze, the restaurant replacing the Mandarin Oriental’s Sou’Wester, opened quietly Monday. The revamped dining room features blond-wood tables, a striking patterned carpet, purple banquettes and large, rectangular light fixtures wrapped in metal cages.
The menu, crafted by executive chef Didier Pouzier and chef de cuisine Mark McDonnell, previously of Rogue 24, skews Asian with such dinner appetizers as green-curry mussels with lemongrass, apples and cilantro as well as Kobe sliders on miso brioche with smoked-pepper aïoli. Dinner entrees include grilled Alaskan salmon with cauliflower, kale, roe and dill juice and duck breast with pumpkin pearl barley, huckleberries and a juniper jus.
The changes in this dining room won't affect anything at the hotel's celebrated CityZen.
Muze is open for breakfast from 6:30-11 AM weekdays and 7-11 AM weekends; for lunch daily from 11:30 AM-4 PM; and for dinner from 5:30-10 PM nightly.
