On Tap This Week: Learn About Sustainable Brewing at Bluejacket, More

Bastille hosts a Vignobles Comtes von Neipperg Bordeaux wine dinner Thursday at 6:30 PM, serving such dishes as local sea scallops with lobster reduction and Jerusalem artichoke cream, grassfed Angus strip loin au poivre with cauliflower gratin and honey bavarois with stewed spiced apricots and pistachio among the five courses. The dinner costs $129 with wine pairings and $59 without, plus tax and gratuity (1201 N. Royal St, Alexandria; 703-519-3776).


Paul's Wine & Spirits hosts a complimentary sake tasting Thursday from 5:30-8 PM, when sake fans can try four varieties including a sparkling version. The sakes sampled that evening will also be available for a special price. In addition, the first 10 people who mention they saw the event online will receive a $10 gift card (5205 Wisconsin Ave.; 202-537-1900). 


Net Impact and Grassfed Media host an evening of beer and sustainability at Bluejacket brewery in Navy Yard (300 Tingey St. SE) Wednesday from 6-9 PM. Attendees will receive a draft beer, finger foods and a tour of the brewing operations, as well as a chance to meet beer activist Chris O’Brien - an expert on environmentally sustainable brewing practices and  American University's director of sustainability.
