Plan Ahead: Peter Chang Teams with The SourceBy Rina Rapuano | January 10, 2014 By Rina Rapuano | January 10, 2014
Exciting news for those who have followed the career of Peter Chang, who has a handful of restaurants in Virginia and Atlanta: the sometimes elusive award-winning Sichuan chef will cook for an event with The Source chef Scott Drewno to celebrate the Chinese New Year. From 6-9 PM January 27, the chefs will present a range of dim sum specialties for $50 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) in the restaurant’s lounge. A punch called the Clydesdale - created by head bartender Woong Chang in honor of the Year of the Horse - will be available in addition to a cash bar.
Other just-announced events planned for The Source's New Year revelry include a family-style banquet offered January 31 to mark the official first night of the Chinese New Year; a dumpling-making class presided over by chef Drewno; and the dining room being transformed into a Chinese night market complete with street food on February 10.
But having sampled the food of both Chang and Drewno, we’re pretty sure the event featuring both masterful chefs will be one you won’t want to miss. Tickets to all of The Source's Chinese New Year events can be purchased here (202-637-6100).
