Thankfully, we never had to experience the pleasures (speakeasies!) and displeasures (bathtub gin!) of Prohibition firsthand, but that won’t stop us from celebrating its repeal at the sixth annual Repeal Day Ball hosted by the DC Craft Bartenders Guild.

The event expects to draw more than 400 attendees to sample cocktails crafted by some of the area’s most celebrated mixologists while dancing to Prohibition-era tunes. The black-tie affair, which also benefits The Museum of the American Cocktail, takes place December 7 at the Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Ave. SE). VIP tickets cost $150 and allow an early entry at 8 PM. Regular admission runs $100 per ticket and starts at 9 PM.

Participating bartenders include Dan Searing of Room 11, Todd Thrasher of Restaurant Eve, Jamie MacBain of Bourbon Steak and Gina Chersevani of Hank’s Oyster Bar.

Tickets can be purchased here, and we recommend purchasing soon since they're expected to go lickety-split.
