Ris at Union Market Open as of Today

Union Market is having a big day today with the opening of its first full-service restaurant, Bidwell, and also a new stall from a well-known local chef Ris Lacoste, chef-owner of Ris.

The market spot will sell kitchen staples for home cooks, such as veal stock ($8), a tomato-eggplant sauce ($6) and a Champagne vinaigrette ($5). In addition, prepared entrees like braised lamb shanks ($16), individual chicken pot pies ($8 each) and meatballs ($10 per half dozen) will be available along with savory and sweet baked goods such as quiche Lorraine ($4), pies ($4) and chocolate macaroons ($8 per dozen).

There will also be a daily roster of soups, stews, salads and kid-friendly options - such as tomato soup ($5), Jamaican curried goat stew ($12), a tortilla salad ($9) and mac and cheese ($6). The new endeavor will also serve as an additional pick-up location for he restaurant’s catering program, Ris to Go.

Ris at Union Market's hours are 11 AM-7 PM Tuesday through Friday; and 10 AM-7 PM Saturday and Sunday.
