This Weekend: Taste of DC

By Rina Rapuano | October 11, 2013 By Rina Rapuano  |  October 11, 2013

This weekend, Pennsylvania Avenue NW - between Ninth and 14th streets - will be transformed into the Taste of DC food and music festival. A $10 ticket includes access to more than 60 restaurants, more than 50 beers and 50 wines, live music, and cooking demonstrations (children under five get free admission).

On “Restaurant Row,” each restaurant will have up to four items for sale, including a tasting item priced at $3 or less. That means attendees can try Central Michel Richard’s decadent chicken nuggets for $3 (Saturday only); a vegetarian samosa from Indique Heights for $2 (Saturday and Sunday); and Oceanaire Seafood Room’s tequila shrimp ceviche for $2 (Saturday only).

All this, and you get to support Habitat for Humanity  while you’re at it. Now, the only question is whether to pig out before or after viewing the eating contests.
