Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont Circle hosts a clambake and beer-tasting brunch Saturday, when Maine Beer Co. owner and brewer Dan Kleban will be on hand to pour several of his brews. The beers can be sampled individually with no reservations required, or you can buy tickets to the beer brunch that includes a Maine blueberry salad and an 8-inch clambake pizza. The Daily Dish presents Cocktails for the Cure Saturday, when blush-colored cocktails will be served throughout the day in honor of the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure. The restaurant will donate 10% of the proceeds to help local breast cancer community health programs run by Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Cocktails will include The Komen Cosmo, the Chica Margarita and a Pink Ribbon Fizz (8301 Grubb Road, Silver Spring, MD; 301-588-6300).
Discover the charms of Irish cooking from the area’s most famous Irish-born chef, Cathal Armstrong of Restaurant Eve, The Majestic, Eamonn's A Dublin Chipper, PX and Society Fair. The restaurateur will host a book signing and discussion of his debut cookbook, My Irish Table, at La Cuisine Saturday at 2 PM (323 Cameron St., Alexandria; 703-836-4435).

The Yards Park hosts a free Side Yards event Saturday from 5-10 PM that has all the makings of a memorable time: sword swallowers, acrobats, fire breathers, contortionists, magicians, jugglers - not to mention live music plus plenty of food and a Bluejacket beer garden. Food-wise, you’ll find bites from Patty Boom Boom, Ice Cream Jubilee, Nando's Peri Peri, Capital Chicken and Waffles and empanadas from Agua 301 (355 Water St. SE).
