In honor of the Thai New Year, celebrated this year from April 13-15, the Royal Thai Embassy has organized a Thai Restaurant Week that starts today and runs through April 17. Throughout the week, participating restaurants in DC, Maryland and Virginia will offer special dishes - including some that American diners rarely get the chance to try. Nava Thai, Bangkok Joe’s and Bangkok 54 are among the restaurants taking part in the special week.
Lost Rhino Brewing Co. in Ashburn, VA hosts a Spring Fest with live music, food trucks and craft beer Saturday from noon-7 PM at the brewery (21730 Red Rum Drive, Suite 142; 571-291-2083). The event costs $20 for drinkers, which includes four beverage tokens, and $10 for nondrinkers, which includes unlimited root beer. Tickets can be purchased here.
Dumbarton House has created a tasty way to digest your history lesson by hosting a Georgetown walking tour that features stops at three of the neighborhood’s cupcake shops: Baked & Wired, Sprinkles and Georgetown Cupcake. The $20 tour takes place Sunday from 11 AM-1 PM starting at the historic house’s garden gates (the corner of Q and 27th streets NW) and ending at Sprinkles. Tickets, which can be purchased here, include a cupcake from each bakery.
