Here's a roundup of food- and drink-related fun around town this week:
Fiola begins a three-week regional Italian menu promotion Mondays through Wednesdays throughout the dining room exploring the areas of Veneto (this week), Toscana (January 20-22) and Piemonte (January 27-29). Diners can opt for the set four-course tasting menu, which costs $60 including wine pairings (excluding tax and gratuity). The Veneto menu features such dishes as calamari a baccalà alla Vicentina, mussel and clam risotto Chioggia style and Long Island duck with foie gras sausage (202-628-2888).
Hank’s Oyster Bar in Dupont offers an adult hot chocolate bar Mondays in its UpBar. The hot chocolate menu boasts some predetermined flavor combinations - like the Corsica spiked with lavender Campari or the Decadence enhanced with absinthe - as well as the option to create your own. The hot chocolates are made with premium Cordillera 65% Colombian chocolate and can be made without spirits as well (202-462-4265).
ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen offers a buy-one-get-one-free bowl at the Georgetown ShopHouse location only (2805 M St. NW) every Monday in January from 11 AM-10 PM. George Washington University students and staff can claim their BOGO bowl by presenting a valid university ID (202-627-1958).
Eno Wine Room continues its monthly “Enoversity” series with winemaker Jordan Harris of Tarara Winery in Virginia. Guests who would like to participate need only order a glass of the winery’s 2011 Cabernet Franc, 2011 Three Vineyards Chardonnay or the 2012 Charval - or a flight of all three - and Harris will visit their table to talk with them about the winery. The free event takes place from 6-8 PM, and wine prices will range between $12 and $16 (202-295-2826).
In honor of National Soup Month, Legal Sea Foods’ three area locations serve $1 cups of New England chowder today with the purchase of an entrée (the cups regularly cost $5.25). In addition, Legal Sea Foods’ online fish market will offer a quart of clam chowder for $11 - regularly priced at $20.95 - excluding tax and shipping/handling (Chinatown, 202-347–0007; Crystal City, 703-415-1200; Tysons Galleria, 703-827-8900).

A portion of the proceeds will also go toward Coffee Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of coffee farmers and their families. The event takes place from 6 PM-midnight, when a $10 donation at the door gets you a free glass of tiki punch, a raffle ticket for a $25 Tryst gift certificate, $4 happy hour selections - plus music and a free lei. RSVP here (202-232-5500).
