Double Zero
Pizzeria with colorful vegan pies

The Zagat Review
“Innovative” vegan pizzas are what it’s about at Matthew Kenney’s East Village hang where “flavorful” wood-fired pies are made with superfine flour (for which it’s named) and nut-based cheeses (the “greatest surprise” ); communal table seating can feel “super-tight” , but it’s still a “cool” spot overall.

Went and it was packed with a pretty hip, upscale crowd. They serve a good selection of beer and wine. Vegan pan pizzas are the specialty of the house. They have heated outdoor seating, so we tried that. Ordered a bottle of Riesling, tomato and white pizzas. Need to say that unlike my company I am not a vegetarian by any means. That said, the wine was fine, not too sweet, relatively dry, the pizza was a little more spicy than I anticipated. It was served with some red pepper spice added on the side, that I definitely had no use for. The crust and flavor were exceptional. Unfortunately the spice overwhelmed both dishes for me. My company was not of the same opinion. Being a vegetarian and loving the spicy heat, they felt the pizza dishes were both awesome and delicious worthy of 4 stars! So to sum it up, if your are a vegan who loves organic ingredients and a little spicy heat, this place is for you and worth a try.

Amazing vegan place, with great food and wine, and friendly service. I recommend trying the cheese platter, it was very nice and it includes a big piles of delicious crackers. They have a wide range of pizzas that all sound awesome. Didn't have dessert but I'm sure they're nice as well. Would definitely return to Double Zero the next time I visit New York.

One of the best restaurants I have gone to in NYC. You won’t even notice it’s vegan! We ordered a salad/ pizza to share and french toast for dessert. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly as well. If you’re in New York it’s definitely a must!
