Offering "a taste of true-blue BBQ" , this NoPa pit stop from the "hip" 4505 restaurant group doles out "sublime" wood-smoked meats, "ridiculously delicious" burgers and "awesome" sides, all matched with "local brews" and served over the counter "with a smile" ; the "sparse" interior and "convivial" patio are "wildly popular" with those "craving" "a killer meal" , but "the steady line is worth it."

I'm originally from Texas, and so I chose this place because I wanted BBQ. Don't waste your money on any of the food. The drinks were nice and reasonably priced. I had the beer, which was really good. The brisket was dry. The rub was great, but that didn't really make up for how tough it was to even chew the meat. The beans were the only saving grace. I had to dip my meat inside of the beans to get any kind of moisture. The sauces were all terribly mediocre. I would say it was like pouring flavored water onto the BBQ. Very disappointing. The service was amazing. Very hospitable and lively. But for food? I'd advise going elsewhere or at least avoid the brisket at all costs.

Coming from the Midwest I say this BBQ is okay. We had a three meat plate that was not well portioned for the cost. We tasted the pulled pork, pulled chicken, and house made sausage and of the three the sausage reigned supreme. The pork was a little over cooked and the smoked chicken, while very tender, was not flavorful. Side of baked beans we're watery and a little bland. The BBQ sauces where a choice of House White and Sweet & Thick. Really enjoyed the House White but the Sweet & Thick was too vinegary. Service was okay, one girl was really nice but the computer system was apparently new and they messed up our order and they ordered us .2 sausages and not 2 which was an odd portion? Restroom probably needs paper towels since you have to physically touch the doorknob but overall it was very clean. In general not a bad spot for BBQ in San Francisco, have high standards from Joe's in KC but good place to try out.

Seen this place on my favorite show Parts Unknown. Was in SF for the day and love BBQ. This place is great! Fresh food, good service, and beers on tap/bottle. I tried their special Brisket fry basket and wasn't let down! Would definitely come back. It got 4 stars because I've eaten BBQ in Texas and haven't found better. Still this place is great and worth a shot!
